How to Make a Bacon Bar:

  • I like to set up the different bacons in mason jars on a table and set them amongst the biscuits, bacon salt, and other accompaniments.

I love the idea to present the different types of bacon in individual mason jars with cute tags describing each variety and simply adorned with a bit of twine. You many even already have those decorative touches on hand!

Tis’ the season for giving – The perfect excuse to send  my guests home with a fun parting gift of Bacon Salt! I just pack it up into decorative glass jars, label them with my guests’ names, and attach a small salt spoon for an extra special touch. It’s amazing sprinkled over roasted vegetables, scrambled eggs, or a big juicy steak. But my absolute favorite thing to do with Bacon Salt? Use it as a salt rim for Bloody Marys… Yep!

  1. A friend of mine once said bacon is the gateway drug to meat eating, as she gave up her vegetarianism one day when she just couldn’t resist some bacon. I’m personally not a huge fan (and am probably the only person in the world who’d say that), but I love the idea of a bacon bar. So fun!

  2. My favorite are the bacon cheddar drop biscuits. Drop biscuits are not only easier to make, but they are more moist than rolled and cut biscuits.

  3. I am responsible for the biscuits for Christmas morning, and I want to use the Cheddar bacon biscuit recipe this year. I will practice a few times to make certain I know what I’m doing.

  4. Wow, this is a great idea! I think it could get expensive though. You just don’t understand how big of bacon eaters I have in my family. Or maybe you do understand! lol! I would like to try the Crispy Bacon Twists with Gouda and Apricot Preserves. I would never think to combine apricots and bacon, but they are two of my favorite foods, and the salt-sweet aspect makes sense. So I will give them a whirl!

PS– The picture combining a clothespin, mini spoon, and Weck jar is amazing! I may have to borrow that idea!

  8. Whoa! What a great idea! The only problem with a bacon bar at your party is that you’d have tons of people trying to crash it. 🙂
