I’m here to teach you how to create a DIY Bacon Bar at home – It’s the perfect solution for entertaining a crowd at breakfast or brunch! We’re taking bacon to the extreme with a variety of flavored bacons, bacon biscuits, bacon flavored salt and even bacon jam.
We’ve officially entered the busiest happiest time of the year! Shopping for holiday gifts, visiting family members and entertaining at home – It’s a whirlwind of fun that just spins you around and ends with a glass of bubbly at midnight on January 1st.
To keep entertaining awesome and easy this holiday season, I’m tackling brunch in a new way – With a DIY Bacon Bar!
What is a Bacon Bar?
An ultimate bacon spread with different varieties – Sea Salt Caramel Bacon, Apricot Gouda Bacon, and Bourbon Brown Sugar Bacon – as well as flaky biscuits, bacon jam and scrambled eggs for DIY breakfast sandwiches. And because any occasion with a bacon bar is cause for celebration – Don’t forget to break out the bubbly too! Here are 5 budget-friendly sparkling wines that would pair perfectly with all that amazing bacon-goodness.
How to Make a Bacon Bar:
- I like to set up the different bacons in mason jars on a table and set them amongst the biscuits, bacon salt, and other accompaniments.
I love the idea to present the different types of bacon in individual mason jars with cute tags describing each variety and simply adorned with a bit of twine. You many even already have those decorative touches on hand!
Tis’ the season for giving – The perfect excuse to send my guests home with a fun parting gift of Bacon Salt! I just pack it up into decorative glass jars, label them with my guests’ names, and attach a small salt spoon for an extra special touch. It’s amazing sprinkled over roasted vegetables, scrambled eggs, or a big juicy steak. But my absolute favorite thing to do with Bacon Salt? Use it as a salt rim for Bloody Marys… Yep!
What’s better than bacon salt rimmed Bloody Marys?

Just add bacon and bubbles 😉
A bacon bar sounds like a fabulous idea especially for game days!
This bacon bar would be fantastic for football parties!
Oh my gosh so many wonderful recipes but I would have to have the Bacon Waffle Bake or the Bacon Jam.
That Bacon Waffle Bake does sound pretty amazing Stephanie!

Thanks Stacey!

I would serve the Crispy Bacon Twists with Gouda and Apricot Preserves.
Don’t those sound amazing Ellie?!
A friend of mine once said bacon is the gateway drug to meat eating, as she gave up her vegetarianism one day when she just couldn’t resist some bacon. I’m personally not a huge fan (and am probably the only person in the world who’d say that), but I love the idea of a bacon bar. So fun!
Ha – Love it Catherine! Beware of bacon 🙂
holy moly! a bacon bar is such a great idea! and that bacon salt recipe…definitely a bloody mary game changer! yummmm.
Agreed – SO amazing on a Bloody Mary. My favorite!
My favorite are the bacon cheddar drop biscuits. Drop biscuits are not only easier to make, but they are more moist than rolled and cut biscuits.
My family would be so excited to have a bacon buffet like this! Love all your ideas!
I am responsible for the biscuits for Christmas morning, and I want to use the Cheddar bacon biscuit recipe this year. I will practice a few times to make certain I know what I’m doing.
Wow, this is a great idea! I think it could get expensive though. You just don’t understand how big of bacon eaters I have in my family. Or maybe you do understand! lol! I would like to try the Crispy Bacon Twists with Gouda and Apricot Preserves. I would never think to combine apricots and bacon, but they are two of my favorite foods, and the salt-sweet aspect makes sense. So I will give them a whirl!
PS– The picture combining a clothespin, mini spoon, and Weck jar is amazing! I may have to borrow that idea!
With all those bacon eaters in your family, it’s a good thing you’re entering to win free bacon for a year!!!
Thank you for the kind words on the bacon salt presentation – They’re cute, aren’t they?
That’s so cute! Who wouldn’t love that?!? Would be yummy to combine with chocolate or other treats that go well with bacon! 😉 Like, make your own bacon-ey trail mix??!
That’s a great idea to throw some sweet treats into the bacon bar too!

I’ll bet that your house made bacon is amazing!!! Yum!
Mmmmm Bacon! I think the Bacon Waffle Bake would be a fun one to try. Or maybe the Bacon and Egg Cups. Or the Cinnamon Toast Bacon Pancakes. Too many choices!!!
All good choices!
Would love to try the sea salt caramel bacon!
Doesn’t that sound amazing Holly?!
The bacon cheddar biscuits sound delicious! They’d go well with some bacon and potato soup!
Whoa! What a great idea! The only problem with a bacon bar at your party is that you’d have tons of people trying to crash it. 🙂
Ha! Totally Debbie 🙂 Keep it hush, hush…
I’d love to try the caramelized or bourbon bacon. So yummy ?
I like the Cherry Bacon Jam with Thyme and Cloves for entertaining
Oh – I need the Caramelized Bourbon Bacon right now!!
