I’ve been a fan of Italian sodas since I was a young girl. I’d order one every time we went out to eat at a fancy Italian restaurant. Sometimes I’d order strawberry, but raspberry was always my favorite flavor. To me, it felt so much fancier than a Shirley Temple. Today, my obsession with fancy drinks continues.
But today, I’m revisiting this classic mocktail in honor of Mother’s Day. See, my mom isn’t a fan of alcohol. If it wasn’t our identical features – the red hair, the noses, the brown eyes – I’d have to question whether I was really her daughter. She scrunches up her nose when she tries wine. She doesn’t even like it in cooking… Maybe I was given the wine gene for both of us.
