2Tablespoonsfresh parsleyminced, plus more for garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Soften the 1 stick butter in the microwave in short increments.
Add the 4 cloves garlic, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, half the 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese, and 2 Tablespoons fresh parsley and stir to combine.
Cut the 1 loaf french bread in half and spread with a thick layer of the butter mixture.
Set the bread buttered side up on a rimmed sheet pan and sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan cheese.
Bake for 9-10 minutes. Add an extra 1-2 minutes if you want for more browning.
Garnish with parsley, slice and serve.
Notes
Soften; don’t melt the butter. Softened butter is easier to mix and spread, while melted butter is more likely to separate and make the bread greasy. The easiest way to soften butter is to leave it on the kitchen counter for about 30 minutes, but this easy steaming method from Preppy Kitchen is even faster.
For softer garlic bread, cover the bread on the pan with aluminum foil during the first half of the baking time. Uncover it during the last half to let the top crisp up.
You can add 1 to 2 minutes to the baking time if you like extra crispy garlic bread. Just watch it closely to prevent it from becoming too hard or burnt.
