You know, those appetizer recipes that once you have them in your arsenal, you feel like you can take on any party or potluck?

This is that appetizer.

These savory, cheesy bites with a hint of sweetness make the perfect party appetizer. Why?

  • They take all of ten minutes to make.
  • You only need three ingredients.
  • There’s no need for serving utensils or toothpicks. Just wrap them up and serve.

In reality, you don’t need a recipe, but I gave you one anyway! Just grab a wedge of parmesan cheese, some sliced Prosciutto di Parma, and a jar of fig preserves.

About those ingredients…

Ingredients for prosciutto bites on tray.

How to make it

To make these bites, I cut a wedge of parmesan into thin slices about 1-inch wide in diameter. To each piece, I add a small dollop of fig preserves. Then, I cut each slice of prosciutto in quarters and wrap them around the cheese pieces.

That’s it! Super simple.

Half slice of prosciutto topped with cheese and figs before wrapping.

Erin’s wine pairings

  • Try pairing these bites with a zesty white wine like a Sauvignon Blanc or a Pinot Gris.  Their mouth-watering acidity will help cut through the sweetness and fattiness of the prosciutto and fig preserves.
  • Bubbles make a fun pairing – Try Cava, Prosecco or Champagne.

Tried this for the 1st time this week. It was a lovely combination, especially the chutney. However I need to work out how to make the portions smaller. Very filling.
