Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard // Dundee, Oregon

The Black Walnut Inn in is the perfect place to stay when visiting Oregon wine country. Located in Dundee, Oregon nestled among some of the best Willamette Valley wineries.

Last weekend Rick & I had the pleasure of staying at the Black Walnut Inn in Dundee, Oregon and enjoying their special collaboration dinner featuring Beaux Frères wines and five-courses prepared by Chef Paul Bachand of  Recipe Neighborhood Kitchen.

The grounds and rooms at the Black Walnut Inn are simply stunning. Upon entering the property, you immediately feel like you’re transported to an Italian countryside villa. It’s heated patio, complete with a fire pit, is the perfect spot to soak in the vineyard views, even on chilly days.

Upon check in, we were greeted by a glass of local wine and led up to our room. It’s private balcony also had views of the beautiful property. We had a short bit of time to relax before heading down for dinner.

We started with small bites and bubbles in the hotel lobby by the fireplace and then were led down to the dining room where Michael Etzel, of Beaux Frères led us through a sampling of their amazing wines paired with the most delicious dishes created by Chef Paul:

  • Netarts Bay Oysters paired with Chardonnay
  • Golden Potato Risotto paired with Belles Soeurs Pinot Noir
  • Consomme with Duck Sausage paired with Gran Moraine Pinot Noir
  • Roasted Leg of Lamb Paired with Zena Crown Pinot Noir

Each dish was better than the next and the sampling of wines was just stunning. The pairings were perfectly matched.

The next day, it was difficult to get out of bed… Not because of the wine consumed the night before, but because the sheets and the down comforter were just so comfortable. But, ever since check in, I’d had their breakfast on my mind.

I’d seen images on Instagram, but had no idea just what we were in store for.

A fresh-squeezed beet/carrot juice was just what I needed to get going, along with a mimosa. And my tartine with goat cheese, scrambled eggs and sausage was the tastiest breakfast I’ve had in a long time.

We cannot wait to go back to this boutique inn and I’d highly recommend the Black Walnut Inn as a place to stay if you’re out in the area enjoying wineries in the Dundee, Oregon area.

Also, be sure to check out their Chef Collaboration Dinners. It will be an experience you won’t soon forget.

Our stay and meal at the Black Walnut was complimentary. As always, all opinion are my own.
