We’ve officially entered the busiest happiest time of the year! Shopping for holiday gifts, visiting family members and entertaining at home – It’s a whirlwind of fun that just spins you around and ends with a glass of bubbly at midnight on January 1st.

To keep entertaining awesome and easy this holiday season, I’m tackling brunch in a new way – With a DIY Bacon Bar!

What is a Bacon Bar?

An ultimate bacon spread with different varieties – Sea Salt Caramel Bacon,   Apricot Gouda Bacon, and Bourbon Brown Sugar Bacon – as well as flaky biscuits, bacon jam and scrambled eggs for DIY breakfast sandwiches. And because any occasion with a bacon bar is cause for celebration – Don’t forget to break out the bubbly too! Here are 5 budget-friendly sparkling wines that would pair perfectly with all that amazing bacon-goodness.

How to Make a Bacon Bar:

  • I like to set up the different bacons in mason jars on a table and set them amongst the biscuits, bacon salt, and other accompaniments.

I love the idea to present the different types of bacon in individual mason jars with cute tags describing each variety and simply adorned with a bit of twine. You many even already have those decorative touches on hand!

Tis’ the season for giving – The perfect excuse to send  my guests home with a fun parting gift of Bacon Salt! I just pack it up into decorative glass jars, label them with my guests’ names, and attach a small salt spoon for an extra special touch. It’s amazing sprinkled over roasted vegetables, scrambled eggs, or a big juicy steak. But my absolute favorite thing to do with Bacon Salt? Use it as a salt rim for Bloody Marys… Yep!

I am responsible for the biscuits for Christmas morning, and I want to use the Cheddar bacon biscuit recipe this year. I will practice a few times to make certain I know what I’m doing.

Wow, this is a great idea! I think it could get expensive though. You just don’t understand how big of bacon eaters I have in my family. Or maybe you do understand! lol! I would like to try the Crispy Bacon Twists with Gouda and Apricot Preserves. I would never think to combine apricots and bacon, but they are two of my favorite foods, and the salt-sweet aspect makes sense. So I will give them a whirl!

PS– The picture combining a clothespin, mini spoon, and Weck jar is amazing! I may have to borrow that idea!

With all those bacon eaters in your family, it’s a good thing you’re entering to win free bacon for a year!!!
Thank you for the kind words on the bacon salt presentation – They’re cute, aren’t they?

Whoa! What a great idea! The only problem with a bacon bar at your party is that you’d have tons of people trying to crash it. 🙂
