Homemade Cajun seasoning has a bold, spicy flavor with an underlining earthiness. It’s the perfect all-purpose seasoning, especially if you like a little bit of extra heat in your meals.
Similar to my Homemade Taco Seasoning Recipe and Homemade Italian Seasoning Recipe, this Cajun seasoning is incredibly versatile, only takes a few ingredients and more than likely already have these ingredients in your spice cabinet.
What ingredients are needed to make Cajun seasoning?
These ingredients are more than likely already in your pantry:
- Smoked paprika (regular works too)
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Kosher salt
- Black pepper
- Cayenne pepper
- Oregano
- Thyme
How to make cajun seasoning:
- Whisk ingredients together in a bowl until combined. Use immediately or store in a sealed container.
Uses for Cajun seasoning:
- Makes an excellent dry rub for baked chicken breasts, air fryer drumsticks, pork chops, fish or even corn on the cob.
- Give fries an extra kick.
- Spice up some pasta chips.
- Jazz up Instant Pot Red Beans & Rice or Instant Pot Black Eyed Peas.
- Add to ranch dressing to serve on a salad.
- Season grilled shrimp skewers with it.

Ingredients
- 3 Tablespoons smoked paprika (regular works too)
