Air Fryer Frozen French Fries = Total Game Changer

The air fryer has changed the way I cook so many things. From burgers, chicken breasts, to baked potatoes, meatloaf, even tortilla chips, the air fryer makes them quicker, healthier and so much more delicious!

With this air fryer frozen shoestring fries recipe you’ll get all the crispiness and flavor of fried french fries, but without the extra fat that deep frying would add. Plus, it’s so much faster than baking them in the oven!

What Makes This Recipe So Good?

  • Perfectly crispy french fries. NEVER soggy!
  • No preheating the oven.
  • No extra oil like deep fried french fries.
  • Soft center + crispy exterior.
  • Healthy + DELICIOUS!

Ingredients

  1. Frozen French Fries: 1-INGREDIENT is all you need!

And the best part?

You can cook any type of fries in the air fryer. Steak Fries. Curly Fries. Waffle Fries. You’ll just need to adjust the cook time (see below). Thicker fries will have a different cooking time than thinner fries, like shoestring fries.

How to Cook Shoestring Fries in the Air Fryer

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400-degrees.
  • Arrange frozen fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer (work in batches if needed).

How Long do you Cook Frozen Fries in an Air Fryer?

You can air fry any type of fries – shoestring fries, waffle fries, steak fries and more. Here’s a handy timing chart:

  • Shoestring Fries: 8-10 minutes
  • Curly Fries: 10-12 minutes
  • Steak Fries: 10-12 minutes
  • Crinkle Cut Fries: 12-14 minutes
  • Waffle Fries: 12-14 minutes
  • Sweet Potato Fries: 12-14 minutes

Tips for the Best Air Fryer Frozen Fries

  • Cook at a high temperature. For the best results, air fry your fries at 400-degrees.
  • Cook in a single layer. The fries should be in a single layer in the air fryer basket. It’s ok if they overlap slightly, but they should have room for the hot air to circulate around them. So, cook in batches if you need to.
  • Toss halfway through. To ensure evenly cooked + crispy fries, be sure to shake the fries halfway through their cook time.
  • For extra crispy air fryer fries. If you’d like your fries even crispier, simply air fry them for 1-3 minutes longer.
  • Amp up the flavor. Choose a favorite dipping sauce and spice blend below.

Spice Things Up!

When your fries are finished air frying, while they are still warm, sprinkle on your favorite seasonings. Try cajun seasoning, chili seasoning, taco seasoning, seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, truffle salt, or chipotle chili powder.
