Just when you thought ravioli couldn’t get any better! Have you tried Air Fryer Ravioli? Coated in a cheesy, breadcrumb mixture and then baked (or air fried) until crispy and delicious! Serve this yummy appetizer with marinara sauce or alfredo sauce and enjoy!
Was it the Olive Garden where I’ve had toasted ravioli before? I think that’s it… I mean, between the Italian Margaritas and the Zuppa Toscana, I’m basically obsessed with the OG OG.
What I do know is that ever since that first time I tried fried ravioli, I’ve been hooked.
But it’s been way too long since I made a batch.
I thought that now was the time to remedy that. Especially since air fryers have become an appliance that just about everyone owns…
PS – If you don’t have an air fryer, I’ve got oven directions below too.
Ingredients needed
- Ravioli – Fresh, refrigerated ravioli or frozen ravioli that has been thawed. You can use cheese or beef ravioli.
- Breadcrumbs – You can use plain or seasoned breadcrumbs.
- Parmesan Cheese
- Eggs
- Basil – This is optional. You can also use Italian seasoning or oregano.
- Salt
Using frozen ravioli
- It’s best to thaw the ravioli overnight in the refrigerator, then follow the cooking directions.
- That being said, I did try a batch in the air fryer straight from frozen, and they cooked up well. This was using cheese ravioli (not beef) after breading.
How to make
- Combine bread crumbs with parmesan, basil and salt in a small bowl.
- Whisk eggs in a second small bowl.
- Dip ravioli in the egg, then coat with bread crumb mixture.
- Place ravioli in air fryer basket in a single layer (you may need to work in batches).
- Spray with cooking spray to encourage browning.
- Air fry at 350 degrees for 6 minutes, until crispy.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce.
