Just when you thought ravioli couldn’t get any better! Have you tried Toasted Ravioli? Coated in a cheesy, breadcrumb mixture and then baked (or air fried) until crispy and delicious! Serve this yummy appetizer with marinara sauce or alfredo sauce and enjoy!
Was it the Olive Garden where I’ve had toasted ravioli before? I think that’s it… I mean, between the Italian Margaritas and the Zuppa Toscana, I’m basically obsessed with the OG OG.
What I do know is that ever since that first time I tried fried ravioli, I’ve been hooked.
But it’s been way too long since I made a batch. Before I even owned an air fryer. And I thought that now was the time to remedy that. So I whipped up a batch, cooking them in the oven as I normally do, but I also threw a batch in the air fryer. Now it’s a toss up between which version is my favorite…
So I’ll leave you with instructions on how to make toasted ravioli two ways – oven and air fryer.
You only need 6 ingredients:
- Ravioli (fresh or frozen and thawed). Cheese or beef.
- Breadcrumbs
- Parmesan Cheese
- Eggs
- Basil (optional)
- Salt
How to Make Toasted Ravioli:
- Combine bread crumbs with parmesan, basil and salt in a small bowl.
- Whisk eggs in a second small bowl.
- Dip ravioli in the egg, then coat with bread crumb mixture.
- Cook until crispy.
How to Make Toasted Ravioli in Air Fryer:
- Place ravioli in air fryer basket in a single layer (you may need to work in batches).
- Spray with cooking spray to encourage browning.
- Air fry at 350 degrees for 6 minutes.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce.
Can I Make Fried Ravioli in the Oven?
Yes! You can bake toasted ravioli in the oven:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Place ravioli in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Spray with cooking spray to encourage browning.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce.
How to Make Toasted Ravioli with Frozen Ravioli
- It’s best to thaw the ravioli overnight in the refrigerator, then follow the cooking directions.
- That being said, I did try a batch in the air fryer straight from frozen, and they cooked up well. This was using cheese ravioli (not beef) after breading.
How do You Reheat Fried Ravioli?
- Oven: Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
- Air Fryer: Fry at 350 degrees for 3-5 minutes, until warm.
What to Dip Toasted Ravioli In:
- Marinara Sauce
- Vodka Sauce
- Alfredo Sauce
- Ranch
- Blue Cheese Dressing
🍽 What to serve with it
- Shaved brussels sprout salad
- Vinegar coleslaw
- Fennel and celery salad
- Kale Cesar salad
- Sous vide asparagus
